Biosphere® packaging products are a new family of affordable, high performance, ultra earth friendly starch based packaging systems.  We do not convert starch into plastic, but bake it, similar to the process of making bread, waffles or ice cream cones.

Biosphere Industries has successfully optimized this 'ice cream cone baking' technology to manufacture rigid packaging products that perform unlike anything else on earth.

 

Innovation within Innovation

Biosphere's patented base material has been exclusively engineered to be made primarily of starches such as tapioca and potatoes and a smaller percentage of grass fibers making them not only biodegradable, but Earth friendly using mostly yearly harvested raw materials. Renew-a-Pak dual ovenable packaging product lines may be used in freezer-to-oven-to-table service.  Custom engineered packaging shapes and sizes may be infused with signature colors and custom aromas.

Clean Process Technology

The advanced technology used to manufacturing Renew-a-Pak and Blueware products is a clean process - no harsh chemicals, no plastics used.  Steam is the only by-product of our efficient, minimal waste manufacturing process.  Biosphere's product line is readily naturally compostable and garbage disposal safe.  Renew-a-Pak products biodegrade completely in 40 days outdoors (depending on precipitation conditions) on their own, or 10 days in a commercial compost environment while enjoying an indoor shelf life of many years.  For towns and cities without composting facilities, Renew-a-Pak biodegradable packaging materials may also be disposed of in paper recycling streams.
